Honestly, I’m still not entirely sure what to make of this Seyval Blanc wine. Don’t get me wrong here it definitely isn’t a bad wine it just seems to have something to it that I just can’t get past, though this doesn’t mean I won’t buy it again. When you open up the bottle you really get a nice smell of citrus to this wine that is quite refreshing. Besides the citrus you definitely get a strong aroma of honey, which apparently is added to the wine for flavouring. Once you take a sip, the first thing you really get is that citrus smell carrying into the taste as lemon with maybe a little grapefruit. You then get that honey again but with a slight earthiness to it. I think it’s this honey taste that gets me with this wine, it just seems a bit out of place for me personally (this coming from the man who loves his mead). Again though, don’t take this as a bad thing as it does seem to work for this wine. As for pairings, I had this as an aperitif (before eating) but I think this wine would go quite nicely with some form of fruit plate. So, if you are a fan of Seyval Blanc, Sauternes, Pinot Grigio, Muscat or even Riesling you may enjoy this wine and I would say to give it a try. And hey at that price why not give it a go?

Haight-Brown Vineyards has informed me that this wine is no longer available. I'm sorry for any of you who were unable to give it a try before it became so.
