Online Tastings

By Sinfathisar - Posted on 11 April 2009

I thought this article was really interesting, and possibly something ECoast Wines might try out in the future. Interactive online tastings :). It sounds like a good alternative to beat the struggling economy.

Technically this isn't just for East Coast Wine, its for all wine, but I just put it in this forum because there isn't a general wine forum...

Wow, I have never heard of something like that. It really sounds like alot of fun. only problem I can see is coordinating people to get the right wines by the right point in time. But still, if you got people organised, it would be cool.

heh, I meant to post a reply a few days ago but got kinda busy. But ya, I really liked this article you linked. I think it would be a pretty awesome idea to do something like this down the road. I definitely agree with vawineaddict though that it would be difficult to try and organize.

But, as I said down the road I think it would be great. and real convientent too for people who maybe can't get out to some of these places. hmm maybe we could actually work some one actually from the vineyard into it ... I'm probably thinking too big now but oh well one can dream can't he.

That would be pretty nice to have someone like the wine maker be apart of it, but ya that is probably a bit dreamy. But while we are already in dream land, one thing that might make these virtual tastings easier would be something like a wine club.

Now I know this is still a new and small site, but personally if you could get a wine club going I would be interested. It's just a idea of a dream, but I think it would be nice.

I have thought about that wine club idea quite alot and I would honestly love to do it down the road.  This site has a long way to go though until that is a fesible idea since I just don't have the numbers yet to make it work.  besides that is the time and capital that it would take to start it that I just don't have.

As I said it's something I would love to do eventually, but one day maybe it wont be a dream.  And of course something like this would make the virtual wine tastings easier.
