This wine is a bit of an odd ball, and I do tend to love odd balls, as it’s made from Moscato grapes and yet it’s a dry wine. Typically Moscato is used in sweeter desserts and even sparkling wines, but on occasion you find dry whites made from it. And as you may know if you’ve been here before, I prefer dry wines and so this Mamalange had a bit to live up to. Thankfully, once you have this wine out you get some absolutely beautiful aromas. The most noticeable I got where these great fruit smells, primarily peach with maybe a little bit of lime. You also get these nice floral aromas, which may or may not have been honeysuckle (maybe some lavender too), as well as a bit of herbs. Once you take in a sip you’re brought right back to those fruits from before, though this time somewhat subdued. But you still get those great fruits flavours of peach put together with the herbs into a really lovely experience. Now I had this as an aperitif before my meal, but I think this would go great with smoked meats, fish and a variety of vegetables. Overall this is a great silky smooth, dry white that is really enjoyable and one which I think you all might like. This is especially true if you like drier Chardonnays or even Rieslings, and of course it’s a pretty decent price so why not try and get your hands on a bottle.

I could only find a 2007 online for you all, so if you would like to purchase it you can get it from Snooth.com here. Remember to make sure they can ship to your state.
