Generally I am not too much of a fan of Rose (and especially Blush) wines, but every now and then one comes along that I actually don't mind and even enjoy. One of these few exceptions is the Rose wine from First Colony Winery which is just a nice and refreshing wine through and through. And of course we start off with the great, and some-what subtle, overall aroma to this wine. You begin by getting some sort of a berry smell, possibly cherry, that quickly moves to a lovely floral aroma which I believe to be something along the lines of an orange blossom. After you move past these nice subtle aromas you get to the far less subtle taste of this wine that starts off quite nicely with that berry taste carrying over with hint of strawberry and cherry. After those flavours, you start to get some sort of a light spice to this wine as well as some sort of melon (which I can't quite pin down). Overall this is a nice, light, dry wine that would be quite nice when chilled on a summers day. This is another wine that I had at a tasting, thus no food besides crackers, but I think this would go nice with a light salmon meal or even a ham sandwich (how often do you hear of a wine that goes with that). If you generally aren't a fan of Rose wines, like myself, then this might be a good choice for you if you want to give it a try. And if you already like Rose, then I'm sure you'll love this one especially considering its awesome price.

If you would like to purchase this wine you can try and find it on Snooth.com here, but I must admit it can be hard to find online. Remember to make sure they can ship to your state and of course don't forget to check out the wineries site here.
