Wine Bloggers Conference 2011

Starting this evening we here at ECoast Wines will begin our coverage of this years Wine Bloggers Conference here in Charlottesville, Virginia. This coverage will be somewhat different from our usual postings on the site as we will be trying out a few things.

Wondering Southwest of C'Ville

Some friends and I travelled Southwest on the Monticello trail recently and had a great day out visiting some wineries. Admittedly it wasn’t the best of days to go out wine tasting, what with the torrential down pour of rain (thus the lack of pics, sorry), but it was still a fun time. even with the weather we made it out to three wineries and picked ourselves up some nice bottles of wine to take home. We even stopped at a nice brewery on the way for an amazing lunch. So, if you are thinking of a nice day trip out from Charlottesville read on to get some good ideas.

2011 Wine Blogger Conference

This coming July is going to quite a fun and new experience for us here at ECoast Wines as we will be attending this years Wine Bloggers Conference. This year the conference is going to be right here in Charlottesville Virginia and will be showcasing the wonderful wines of the East Coast, so of course we couldn’t pass up attending. We think of this wonderful conference coming to our neck of the woods as an amazing opportunity for both the East Coast wine industry as well as our humble little blog.

2010 ECoast Wine Glass Awards

To Commemorate our nearly 2 years of wine tasting, as well as the addition of 2 more contributors, we would like to give a little extra recognition to our favourite wine experiences of the past year. And do this by having our inaugural ECoast Wine Glass Awards. For this first year we would like to give out 3 awards for red, white and specialty wines (Basically anything not general considered white or red). Along with these wine awards we are also giving one award to the best winery tasting experience we had in the past year.

Glass House Winery Grand Opening

This past Saturday was the grand opening of a wonderful new winery in central Virginia called the Glass House Winery. So of course this meant I was on hand to check out the newest selection of wines to come to my neck of the woods. And I have to say i was well impressed by this new comer to the Virginia wine industry. Not only are the wines delicious and interesting but the location and presentation of the winery itself is not to be missed.
